While having a chat with a few experienced Project Managers last week, who happen to be good friends of mine, the question – What makes being a Project Manager so Great? – popped into our conversation and in the course of our debate 5 great answers where proposed and I thought it worth your while to know them.
5 reasons why it is great to be a Project Manager:
1.       Kick monotony out the door! – Work is interesting and challenging. You’ll be kept busy solving one problem or another most of the time, and believe me – There’s never a dull moment!
2.       The Eureka Factor! – A lot of people frown their way through work day in, day out – know why? – The lack of job satisfaction! With Projects there’s plenty of job satisfaction, especially when you see something NEW through to completion successfully.
3.       The thrill of variety! – Like the old saying goes – Variety is the spice of life – No two projects are exactly the same and there’s always something new to learn.
4.       People, Networking & Relationships! – It’s a people business I tell you, you get to work with and meet all types.
5.       Boredom will take a vacation! – Managing projects, you’ll never be short of work. The world will never run out of projects that need managing.
Managing projects is a great way to learn and advance quickly, though fraught with challenges at the beginning, it will prove to be a worthy career choice in the long run.
